The International Department of the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) is not only well known for excellence in international academic qualification but also for offering interesting events bringing students and greats from science and industry together.

Years of passion, cohesion and success stories - let's look back on memories together at the 25th anniversary of the International Department! More information will follow soon.

2020: 2020 is not only the start of a new decade but also the 20th anniversary of the International Department of the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT)!

2019: the Cluster of Excellence “3D Matter Made to Order” of the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) and the University of Heidelberg pursues a highly interdisciplinary approach combining natural and engineering sciences. The research cluster concentrates on three-dimensional additive manufacturing techniques, from the molecular level to macroscopic dimensions.

2018: the HECTOR School of Engineering & Management founded the HECTOR School Academy, a customized training program for companies.

2016: to celebrate the 10 years of the Karlsruhe School of Optics & Photonics there was a celebration with 200 guests in attendance.

2015: the International Department celebrated 15 years of excellent academic education with 750 guests in attendance.

2013: Hector Fellow Academy was established providing eminent scientists a framework for successful teamwork and networking.

2012: the Helmholtz International Research School for Teratronics was founded to produce a new generation of researchers and developers in the electromagnetic spectrum, achieving 19 alumni and 114 publications by 2019. Also in 2012, the Karlsruhe School of Optics and Photonics's excellence status was extended. 

2006: the Karlsruhe School of Optics & Photonics was founded, offering an English taught Master and Doctorate programs in Optics & Photonics as well as being part of the Erasmus Mundus EUROPHOTONICS program.

2005: the HECTOR School of Engineering and Management was established. As the Technology Business School of the KIT, HECTOR School offers six executive Master of Science programs in leading engineering fields as well as incorporating management modules for a unique holistic approach.

2000: the successful history of the International Department started in the year 2000 with the founding of the Carl Benz School of Engineering. Carl Benz School of Engineering offers high-quality education in the form of an undergraduate Mechanical Engineering (International) college program.
