20 Years Jubilee

2020 is not only the start of a new decade but also the 20th anniversary of the International Department of the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT)!

2018     Cluster of Excellence “3D Matter Made to Order”

2013     Hector Fellow Academy

2012     Helmholtz International Research School for Teratronics

2006     Karlsruhe School of Optics & Photonics

2005     HECTOR School of Engineering & Management

2000     Carl Benz School of Engineering

The successful history of the International Department started in the year 2000 with the founding of the Carl Benz School of Engineering. Offering a Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering (International), more than xxx have successfully graduated and have become a part of our alumni network. In 2005, the HECTOR School of Engineering was established. As the Technology Business School of the KIT, HECTOR School offers six executive Master of Science programs in leading engineering fields as well as incorporating management modules for a unique holistic approach. Shortly after, the Karlsruhe School of Optics & Photonics was founded, offering an English taught Master and Doctorate programs in Optics & Photonics as well as being part of the Erasmus Mundus Europhotonics program. In 2012 the Helmholtz International Research School for Teratronics was founded to produce a new generation of researchers and developers in the electromagnetic spectrum. In 2013 Hector Fellow Academy was established providing eminent scientists a framework for successful teamwork and networking. Since 2018 the Cluster of Excellence “3D Matter Made to Order” of the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) and the University of Heidelberg pursues a highly interdisciplinary approach combining natural and engineering sciences. The research cluster concentrates on three-dimensional additive manufacturing techniques, from the molecular level to macroscopic dimensions.
